Bien boire à Magic Kingdom et Animal Kingdom

Magic Kingdom n’est pas le parc avec le plus d’options de bière, je vous l’avoue. Mais il y a quand même quelques endroits où on peut bien s’en tirer. La première, ma préférée, c’est celle du Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen dans la section « Adventureland » du parc.

Kungaloosh Spiced Excursion Ale Draft - É-U

Bière ambrée profonde d'inspiration africaine brassée exclusivement pour Walt Disney World® avec du sorgho et un mélange spécial d'épices, dont de la cannelle et de la cardamome.

Je la comparerais à une bière Oktoberfest bien épicée, mais beaucoup plus sèche.

L’autre option, c’est la Liberty Tree tavern dans le liberty Square. Ici, c’est la gamme Samuel Adams qui est mise à l’honneur. Donc on a la classique Boston Lager, mais aussi leur « hazy IPA », en plus d’un choix en rotation d’un brassin éphémère, qui change/varie selon les saisons. Très cool.

Bien entendu, en plus des choix ci-haut, plusieurs kiosques et restaurants rapides vendent des bières commerciales classiques un peu partout à travers le parc.

À Animal Kingdom, il y a de la bière verte à l’année, pas seulement à la Saint-Patrick.

En effet, il existe une bière verte chez Pongu Pongu, dans la section « pandora: The world of Avatar, la « Hawke’s grog ale » une pale ale très houblonnée de couleur verte. L’autre option est une bière dite “rouge” mais qui est plutôt une bière ambrée, la "Mo'hara High Country Ale ».

La "bière verte" j’ai adoré : rafraîchissante, pas trop maltée, assez houblonnée, pas trop forte en alcool, la bière parfaite pour boire un verre en après-midi sans « scrapper »/compromettre votre fin de journée. J’ai aussi aimé la Mo'hara High Country Ale, mais elle est beaucoup plus maltée et moins sèche en finale.

Un conseil: L’attente à l’attraction d’Avatar "flight of passage" est toujours bien longue. Donc aller chercher une bière verte ou deux (la limite est de deux consommations par personne par commande) et aller faire la file pendant deux heures! Je vous garantis que ce sera plus agréable avec une petite frette en main. Pour ceux qui seraient inquiet que leur vessie ne tienne pas le coup, il y a une salle de bain en milieu de parcours dans la file d’attente. ;)

Ici je digresse quelques instants pour mentionner quelque chose d’assez cool par rapport au parc d’Animal Kingdom. Vous remarquerez que c’est le seul où il n’y a pas d’ustensiles de plastique. La raison est simple: c’est pour protéger les animaux en captivité. (Awwww)

Fin de la digression.

C’est aussi dans Animal Kingdom qu’on trouve une autre bière brassée exclusivement pour Disney en plus de la " Kungaloosh Spiced Excursion Ale Draft" et c’est la «Safari Amber Lager ». Il s’agit une bière rousse lagerisée. Donc une bière rousse brassée avec des levures lager, qui fermentent à plus basse température (et donc plus longtemps comparativement à la Ale). Mais je vous avoue, celle-là, je ne l’ai pas goûtée, mon budget était limité. :) Voici la description sur les menus de Disney.

When we think of Walt Disney World, particularly the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom parks, we think of families, young children, the zoo, mascots, etc. So as adult travelers without children or with your adult children, it may seem unappealing. But in this article you will discover that Magic Kingdom, as well as the other parks at Walt Disney, are just as fun for adults as the others. In this article, I will mainly target the beer aspect of the alcoholic offer of these two parks.

Magic Kingdom isn’t the park with the most beer options, I must admit it. But there are still a few places where you can find good beers to discover and enjoy. The first, my favorite, is the Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen in the “Adventureland” section of the park.

Kungaloosh Spiced Excursion Ale Draft - USA

African-inspired deep amber ale brewed exclusively for Walt Disney World® with Sorghum and a special blend of spices including Cinnamon and Cardamom.

I would compare it to a very spicy Oktoberfest beer, but much drier. The other option available is the Liberty Tree tavern in Liberty Square. Here, the Samuel Adams range is in the spotlight. So we have the classic Boston Lager, but also their hazy IPA, in addition to a rotating choice of a seasonal brew. Pretty cool.

Of course, in addition to the choices mentioned above, several kiosks and fast food restaurants sell classic commercial beers throughout the park.

At Animal Kingdom, there's green beer year-round, not just on St. Patrick's Day. Indeed, there is a green beer at Pongu Pongu, in the “Pandora: The world of Avatar” section, named the “Hawke’s grog ale” which is a very hoppy green pale ale. The other option is a so-called red ale beer but which is more of an amber beer, the "Mo'hara High Country Ale".

The "green beer" (I loved it): refreshing, not too malty, very hoppy, not too strong in alcohol, the perfect beer for a drink in the afternoon without risking compromising the rest of your day. I also liked the Mo'hara High Country Ale, but it's much more malty and less dry on the finish.

Pro tip: The wait at the Avatar attraction "flight of passage" is always very long. You might want to go get yourself a green beer or two (the limit is two drinks per person per order) and queue for two hours! I guarantee it will be more enjoyable with a cold one in hand. For those who are worried about their bladder not holding up, there is a bathroom midway through the queue. ;)

Here I digress for a few moments to mention something pretty cool about the Animal Kingdom park. You will notice that it is the only one where there are no plastic utensils. The reason is simple: it is to protect animals in captivity. (Awwwww <3)

End of digression.

It’s also in Animal Kingdom that we find another beer brewed exclusively for Disney in addition to the "Kungaloosh Spiced Excursion Ale Draft" and it is the "Safari Amber Lager". This is a lagerized red beer. So, a red beer brewed with lager yeasts, which ferment at a lower temperature (and therefore longer compared to Ale). But I confess, this one, I did not try it because my budget was limited. :) Here is the description on Disney menus.
